Our mission
Our mission is to bridge science, local knowledge, and global action to protect rainforests and the species that depend on them. We work in the field, with communities, and with supporters everywhere to conserve biodiversity and ensure these vital ecosystems endure. Our motto is “Research. Educate. Conserve.” A commitment to generating knowledge, sharing it widely, and translating it into lasting protection for biodiversity.
Our sister organizations, Kolibry Field Station, Kolibry Expeditions, and Kolibry Conservation were established to help bring this mission to life, providing the infrastructure, expertise, and on-the-ground presence needed to turn our vision into meaningful impact.
Our goals
Protect Rainforest Habitats
We work to safeguard critical rainforest areas from threats such as poaching, hunting, logging, and mining. By securing these ecosystems, we help ensure that wildlife and habitats remain intact for future generations.
Implement Science-Based Conservation
Our team conducts continuous biodiversity surveys, documenting species, tracking population changes, and identifying conservation needs. Every action we take is grounded in rigorous scientific research. Using the data we collect, we design and carry out targeted conservation measures to protect endangered and vulnerable species across the rainforest.
