We are a young, international team of motivated biologists with a true passion for biodiversity and conservation. Our mission is to bridge science, local knowledge, and global action to protect rainforests and the species that depend on them. Our motto is “Research. Educate. Conserve.” A commitment to generating knowledge, sharing it widely, and translating it into lasting protection for biodiversity.

Our sister organization Kolibry Expeditions was established to help bring this mission to life, providing the infrastructure, expertise, and on-the-ground presence needed to turn our vision into meaningful impact.

Protect Rainforest Habitats
We work to safeguard critical rainforest areas from threats such as poaching, hunting, logging, and mining. By securing these ecosystems, we help ensure that wildlife and habitats remain intact for future generations.

Implement Science-Based Conservation
Our team conducts continuous biodiversity surveys, documenting species, tracking population changes, and identifying conservation needs. Every action we take is grounded in rigorous scientific research. Using the data we collect, we design and carry out targeted conservation measures.

Support and Educate Local Communities
We collaborate closely with local partners to raise awareness, promote sustainable practices, and empower communities living in biodiversity-rich regions to become stewards of their environment.

Inspire Global Action
We encourage people from around the world to join our mission whether by supporting our work through donations or by visiting the field to experience conservation firsthand. Together, we can protect nature and secure a thriving future for all species

How are we organized?

Running an international conservation initiative requires a lot of bureaucratic and administrative structure, and we want to be transparent about ours.

Conservation needs to be visible. This is why we founded our European branch to be responsible for showing why we need nature and why biodiversity is worth protecting. You can directly join and become part of this crucial process.

Local execution - Fundación Kolibry Ecuador

The heart of our operation; our local foundation manages our conservation reserves, protects them from poaching, gold mining, and illegal logging, and manages in-situ the conservation programs. This is both the intersection and the conservation execution.

Conservation requires funding, and we decided our best way to ensure the long-term persistence of our conservation areas is to offer motivated naturalists and scientists sustainable ways to enjoy biodiversity, have life-changing experiences, and progress professionally, all while protecting nature. All of our profit get re-invested into conservation.
